Formerly Avoman, the new cocktail bar by the team behind Sager + Wilde was voted London's Best Bar by Time Out in 2025. Even on Monday evenings, the place crackles with energy. I love low lit places that remind you of eras gone by, and that's totally the atmosphere here. Curated music plays from a traditional record player and sippers perch around the bar. The staff really know their stuff, but they're chipper, not snooty. For all its style, Equal Parts doesn't feel pretentious. 🍸 Satans Whiskers, Bethnal Green

One for the carnivores. Sagardi offers the most phenomenal Basque Country cuisine in the heart of Shoreditch. We felt as though we were transported to a Spanish castle with the dark stone and wood interiors, wine decanters and sublime dishes like El Txuletón rare beef steak, tuna tartare, mushroom croquettes, Padrón peppers and Basque cheesecake. There is something so pleasing about simple cooking done well. Despite dining at Alfi in the middle of freezing January, the fresh flavours transported us to the sunny, salty waters of Cefalù. From the charred sea bass fillet to the plump and juicy Burrata ball atop an insane pistachio tapenade to the tomato salad bathed in high-quality olive oil, this is uncomplicated Italian dining at its best. Why queue hours for Padella when you can go straight to Venerdi and - let's face it - enjoy the pasta just as much? Offering an expansive menu of homemade pizza and pasta, we tried the meatball pasta and the mushroom and truffle pizza washed down with gluggable Italian wine. The experience was like being transported to Taormina for an episode of The White Lotus series 2. Sunshine on a plate, complemented by a great space and excellent service.
